A Padel Ladder is a way to rank teams sequentially based on their abilities to win games against higher ranked players, it gives everyone a fair chance to play with different level players and eliminates the subjectiveness of traditional “Padel level” systems
Download Playmate, choose a partner and look for a Ladder game slot on the app to join. On every slot you join, your team will play against 2 other local teams.
A ranked team can challenge a team up to 10 positions above them. Challenges outside that range may be allowed if both teams agree or Playmate approves.
New/unranked teams may also challenge a ranked team to enter the Ladder. Results must be reported to Playmate.

Format:
Team #[rank] [Player 1] & [Player 2] challenges #[rank] [Player 3] & [Player 4] 🔥
Once accepted, arrange the time, venue and court privately. The challenger is responsible for coordinating the match unless agreed otherwise.
A valid challenge should normally be accepted and played within one month. If a team refuses or repeatedly avoids arranging the match without a reasonable reason, Playmate may award a default win or adjust the rankings.
Injury, travel or other exceptional circumstances can be reviewed by Playmate.
A team only needs to manage one active challenge at a time. Additional challengers can join the queue and are handled in the order received.
A challenge is against the team, not a ranking position. If their ranking changes before the match, the challenge still stands but may no longer be for the same position.
The winning team should send the final score to Playmate so the Ladder can be updated.
At the end of each calendar month, the eligible team ranked #1 becomes the Monthly Ladder Champion.
The current prize is €200 worth of padel gear from Obsidian Padel (https://obsidianpadel.co.uk/). Future prizes may change.
To qualify, the #1 team must:
• Play at least one Ladder match during that calendar month.
• Accept at least one valid Ladder Challenge received on or before the 20th, if challenged.
• Make a reasonable effort to arrange and play any accepted challenge within the normal timeframe.
If no valid challenge is received by the 20th, no additional challenge match is required.
Challenges affecting the #1 team’s prize eligibility must be posted on or before the 20th of the month.
The match itself does not need to be completed before month-end. If accepted, it can be played later under the normal challenge timeframe.
Standard Ladder rules still apply: you must be within 10 positions of #1 when the challenge is posted.
If #1 already has an active challenge, another eligible team can join the queue. The #1 team does not need to play several challenges at once.
If the challenged team loses #1 before your match, your challenge remains valid, but it may no longer be for the top spot.
If another team reaches #1 during the month, the same rules apply. If they become #1 after the 20th, they do not need to accept a new challenge for that month’s prize eligibility, but they must still have played at least one Ladder match that month.
The Monthly Champion is based on the official Ladder ranking at the end of the final day of the month. Later results do not change the previous month’s winner.
The #1 position must remain defendable. Refusing a valid challenge or repeatedly avoiding a match without a reasonable reason may lead to loss of prize eligibility, a default loss or a ranking adjustment.
Playmate may review exceptional circumstances, resolve disputes and adjust rankings or deadlines where needed to keep the Ladder fair.
Rules and prizes may be updated as the Ladder develops.
